Описание: A goal from Alex Scott late on gave the Gunners a 2-1 win over Everton Ladies
DEFEAT against Arsenal means Everton remain winless and bottom of the FA Women's Super League table and manager Andy Spence admits his side have to cut out the sloppy errors.

With the scores tied at 1-1 - Nikita Parris equalising Danielle Carter's opener - Michelle Hinnigan missed a penalty for Spence's side and they were made to pay when Alex Scott tapped in an 84th minute winner.

"It was another good performance from our team today," said Spence.

"But ultimately it is about the results and mistakes have cost us today. We have to be honest and say that.

"It's not great play that's opening us up. I didn't think Arsenal caused us a massive amount of problems. They've always got a threat because of the quality of their players but we were never under siege.

"We deservedly went in level at half time and had a chance to go ahead with the penalty but we didn't take it. They are small margins we've spoken about before. We now need to show big character to get over these disappointments."

It was the visitors - victorious when the sides met in the FA Cup final earlier this season - who went ahead, Leah Williamson's effort bringing a save from Rachel Brown-Finnis before Carter powered in the rebound.

But Parris eluded the Arsenal defence to equalise in stoppage time in the first half before coming close to putting her side in front after the break, Emma Byrne denying her with a fine save.

Yukari Kinga's handled the ball in the box late on for Arsenal and a penalty was correctly given, however Michelle Hinnigan's well-hit spot-kick was saved by Byrne.

Relieved by that let off, Arsenal upped the tempo and went close to the afternoon's third goal through Carter before Scott pounced to tap in the decider.

"It was an entertaining game but it wasn't very entertaining for me when we conceded an equaliser in first half stoppage time. I was absolutely furious about that," said Arsenal heach coach John Bayer.

"I thought Everton were the better side for a lot of the first half. But as that half drew to a close we came on stronger and I was feeling positive about things.

"I said to the players at half time that conceding the way we did wasn't the most professional thing. To be fair I've said to them afterwards that a coach wants a reaction when he gives players a ticking off. I got that. They were much more professional in the second half and I was delighted to see that."
