Meg is having a rest today which has left me free to repeat this popular ski tour.
Starting and finishing at Armentarola near San Cassiano, the route took me up through the forest to emerge into the sunshine on the open meadows. Recent high winds have stripped much of the snow higher up but it was still possible to reach the summit of Stores at 2,185m. After a short walk along the ridge I enjoyed a well-earned lunch at the Pralongia refuge before the exhilarating descent to Armentarola on the ski pistes without having to pay 😊
The top speed on my descent was logged by my Garmin GPS Map62S
