Key Steps for Entering Deep Water Safely:

1. Begin at the entry point with all gear in place and regulator in mouth, ensuring it's functioning properly.
2. Inflate BCD with a few bursts of air for adequate buoyancy before entering the water.
3. Survey the entry area for safety hazards and other divers before proceeding.
4. Secure regulator with right hand and mask with fingertips.
5. If wearing a weight belt, cover buckle with left hand to prevent accidental opening.
6. Look straight ahead towards the horizon and take a giant stride forward, ensuring clearance from the platform or boat edge.
7. Add air to BCD until positively buoyant and signal okay.
8. Transition to snorkel, orienting regulator mouthpiece downwards when placing it in the water.
9. Wait for your buddy on the surface, maintaining readiness for the dive ahead.
