We visited Martin and Björn Dührkop, the managing directors of Dührkop Fleischwaren GmbH in Lasbek, between Hamburg and Lübeck, to learn more about their production and packaging processes. For more than 15 years, the company has relied on a VARIOVAC Optimus thermoformer to package its traditional northern german sausage products.

Recently, Dührkop decided to invest in another Optimus thermoforming machine – this time with the innovative Variosteam application. This technology allows them to package their increasingly popular convenience products, such as Königsberger Klopse, Gulasch, Curry dishes, and many more ready meals, in a way that preserves freshness, taste, and quality.

During our visit, the Dührkop family gave us exclusive insights behind the scenes of their meat production – a perfect combination of craftsmanship, tradition, and state-of-the-art packaging technology.
