Light, flavorful, and super easy to make — Shavige Bath (Sevai Upma) is a South Indian breakfast made using rice vermicelli, veggies, and simple spices. Perfect for lunchboxes or as a quick evening snack!
📝 Ingredients:
For boiling vermicelli:
1 cup rice vermicelli (shavige / sevai)
1½ cup water (enough to boil)
Salt – ½ tsp
1 tsp oil (to avoid sticking)
For tempering & mixing:
2 tsp oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 green chili (slit or chopped)
Few curry leaves
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
1 small onion (finely chopped)
¼ cup chopped carrot (optional)
¼ cup Potato
2 tbsp green peas (fresh or frozen)
Salt – to taste
1 tbsp fresh grated coconut (optional)
2 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)
