Kevin Dubeau has a beautifully etched 373g slice of Campo del Cielo (on thumbnail). *Kind of the theme tonight*
Pat Brown talks about Al Haggounia 001, freezing CdC, and chimes in on a bunch of other great stuff. He shows off his 3kg natural shaped CdC. We also get to see some of his amazing Carbonaceous meteorites including his rare (but stupid) 403g CO3 getting ready for classification.
Bob King stops by with a Chelyabinsk slice with amazing melt brecciation. What’s a “hitchhicker”? We also see the ‘most widely held’ Campo from the Duluth MN area. It is his outreach and unrustable ‘magic’ meteorite.
Oz Backman’s massive slice of Campo del Cielo slice is 400g and the 1/2 Silicated Campo is a whopping 751g. I show off Oz’s newly classified NWA 13519 L3-5 up close.
Ron Metchis discusses the Aletai slice restoration and learning video on my channel. He had a great result with the Marsabit slice he etched himself and check out his super fresh (odd shaped) Chelyabinsk.
Michael Kelly shows his silicated Campo del Cielo that he also etched himself trying to “interact more with his meteorites”. It turned out very well.
Marco Gaisser’s weekly check-in from Germany with three more highly oriented NWA unclassified meteorites: a 15g with fluted regmaglypts, 316g dripping heat shield with terrestrial line, a 2,140g heat shield with flow lines and pooling of fusion crust on the reverse. Thanks Marco, they were awesome!!
Topher: I give a YouTube and sale update, talk about the joy of photographing meteorites. There is a Chelyabinsk sorting/grading video and discussion. I show my two new main masses: an L4 Jiddat al Harasis 739 (Jah 739) 55g of 587g and a Eucrite-mmict NWA 12703 weighing 29g of the total 50.3g.
Sticking with the topic, I show my 200g silicated Campo del Cielo, Zagora a silicated Iron (IAB-ung) and some CdC in a few forms, and very cool CdC crystals with eyelets for stocking stuffers (for my nieces and nephews) from Ashley at Arizona Minerals & Meteorites.
