STORYLINE:

Two of seven U.S. soldiers injured in a plane crash in Afghanistan that left three others dead arrived for treatment at a U.S. military hospital in Germany on Thursday.

The two, who were not identified, were flown to Ramstein Air Force base on a C-17 transport plane.

They were transferred from the aircraft on stretchers and loaded into ambulances taking them to the nearby Landstuhl U.S. military hospital.

Two Air Force personnel and an Army special forces soldier were killed on Wednesday when their plane crashed and caught fire about three miles (two kilometers) from the airstrip where it took off near the Bande Sardeh Dam.

Five other injured remained at Bagram air base, where they were being treated for minor injuries.
