Excerpt including Karen Espig's work from December 30 piano performance by Margin Alexander

On December 30, 2020 Margin Alexander, a NY based composer and pianist curated a performance which included a number of paintings that inspired him (including mine "Autumn Sessions"). He presented them virtually as he played his original compositions, some he had already written and some new ones. The piece that accompanies mine is called "The Song of the Pirate". You will find more of Margin's work on Apple Music and Spotify.

My painting "Autumn Sessions" was created in the autumn of 2020, derived from a photo I took of a fellow creative as he practiced. The maple tree outside the second story window had fully changed colour to red but the leaves had not yet fallen and the sun was strongly streaming into the room.
