Altius-RU: Russian Army Combat Drone for Reconnaissance, Strike and Electronic Attack Missions

Описание: Altius is a medium-altitude long-endurance Russian unmanned combat aerial vehicle developed by OKB Sokol to perform reconnaissance, strike and electronic attack missions. The program started in 2011.
The UAV made its first flight in August 2019. In February 2020, the official website of the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the final version of the drone was called Altius-RU. Altius-RU drone tests were completed successfully on December 22, 2021

Altius-Ru is propelled by two 800 horse power VK-800V turboprop engines developed by the Klimmov Design Bureau. The drone is capable of climbing to an altitude of 12 kilometers and fly autonomously for up to 48 hours. The empty weight of the Altius is six tons and it can carry a payload of 1 ton (2 tons for the civilian version) over a combat range of about 3,500 kilometers. Maximum take off weight is 8,000 kilograms (17,637 pounds). The speed is 150 to 250 kilometers per hour.
As per the Russian media, Altius can interact with the fifth-generation Sukhoi Su-57 fighter jets and its artificial intelligence system can evade air defences and identify major targets such as headquarters, communication hubs and missile launchers.
Altius has the length of 11.6 meters and the wingspan of 28.5 meters.

Altius is controlled via satellite by an operator.
It is also able to operate autonomously.
The elements of artificial intelligence will give the drone new capabilities, including the ability to attack ground targets on its own.
Having received the coordinates of the target, the UAV, using its on-board computer, will be able to compile an algorithm for finding the optimal route to the target or a given patrol area, bypassing the air defense zones of an enemy.
After Altius hits the target, artificial intelligence will look for the safest way to the base.
In terms of its characteristics, Altius can compete on the world arms market with the American UAV MQ-9 Reaper.
For comparison, the Reaper MQ-9 has a range of 2,000 kilometers, while the Bayraktar has a range of 7,500 kilometers.

Altius uses a weapons system similar to the Inokhodets (Pacer) strike drone. The system includes free-fall and guided small-caliber bombs, as well as guided missiles.

Altius-Ru drone was designed to use Grom 1 missiles and Grom 2 gliding bombs.
The Grom-1 missile is designed for engaging targets with known coordinates. It was developed on the basis of a guided missile Ch-38. The maximum range is 120 kilometers, the launch altitude varies from 500 to 12,000 meters. The cruising speed is 300 meters per second.
Guidance is provided by GLONASS navigation system. The missile launch weight is 594 kilograms; the payload is a high explosive fragmentation warhead (HEF) weighing 315 kilograms.
The Grom-2 gliding munition is designed for engaging targets with known coordinates. The maximum launch range is 50 kilometers. Launch altitude from 500 to 12,000 meters. the munition weight is 598 kilograms. The payload includes two HEF warheads, weighing 315 and 165 kilograms.
A number of models are being developed for the civilian market. For example, a super-heavy drone, named after the entire project - "Altair".
According to Russian regulations, each pipeline must be inspected every two to five weeks.
A drone equipped with a monitoring system can reduce the cost and simplify this process.
The drone will help polar explorers to solve problems related to the meteorological situation, ecology, and also monitor the state of the Earth ozone layer.
