MRSA(Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) is a kind of Staphylococcus aureus, which has got tolerance to a beta-lactam antibiotic as typified by methicillin. It is detected, like normal Staphylococcus aureus, in the nasal cavity, pharynx, and epidermis of a healthy person. Acquired multiply drug-resistance, MRSA is considered as a important prophlogistic bacteria of nosocomial infections.
MRSA（メチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌）はメチシリンに代表されるβラクタム系抗生物質に耐性を獲得した黄色ブドウ球菌です。通常の黄色ブドウ球菌と同様に健康な人の鼻腔、咽頭、表皮などから検出されます。また、MRSAは多剤耐性であるため院内感染の重要な起炎菌とされています。
