Описание: Since World War I, often called the chemists’ war, the world has been concerned about the ease with which chemical production can be converted into war production. The March 2012 JPS explored this topic in depth. We heard from Jeffrey A. Johnson, professor, Department of History, Villanova University, and president of the Commission on the History of Modern Chemistry within the history division of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science. Johnson presented “The Great War and the German Chemical Industry: Origins of the Dual-Use Dilemma.”
