When last year's earthquake struck Haiti, more than four thousand inmates escaped from prison. They easily slipped into the streets of the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, hiding in the city's slums and tent cities. A crippled police force found themselves once again losing a battle against gang leaders for control of the city, one they had previously been winning.
In Tuesday's Frontline documentary, "Battle for Haiti", producer Dan Reed tells the story of Haiti's earthquake through the perspective of both the police and escaped prisoners, many of whom say they were wrongly imprisoned and have not been heard in court.
