The Maine Marathon by Handcycle!

Описание: Steve takes on the Maine Marathon which runs up the coast from Portland to Yarmouth and then back. Needless to say, this is a gorgeous area of the country, and the course offers some amazing views along the way.

Oh, and it is hilly. Really hilly.

But as an out and back, you reap the rewards of all that climbing when the downhills do come. It was worth every sore muscle.

Though this marathon has been around for many years, they’ve struggled to attract athletes with disabilities. I must say they went beyond mere accommodation and made me fully welcome as a participant. By all means, reach out to their staff if you are interested in participating next year. Carol and I hope to be there!
