DIY Wooden Stair Tread and Riser Replacement Project in 2023. This DIY project was a complete replacement of the 1950’s stair treads and risers. Treads and risers were custom made from locally-sourced Ash wood. The DIY process included all cutting, squaring, planing, gluing, sanding and finishing to match the vinyl basement flooring. Stair tread front edges were covered with transparent anti-slip adhesive.
