Today, we visited a Sumo Jungyo (regional tour). Unlike the official tournaments, the atmosphere here is much closer and more personal. We were lucky enough to witness some rare and sacred rituals that are usually hidden from the public eye.

Tsuna-gime (Rope-tying): Watching the powerful ritual of tying the Yokozuna's sacred white rope by a team of wrestlers.

Yokozuna Dohyo-iri: The awe-inspiring ring-entering ceremony and the "Shiko" (earth-stamping) to purify the ring.
