STEWARDSHIP
Stewardship is the way we look after things – not the way we own things. We are stewards, or trustees, or custodians – of something that belongs to someone else but which has been put into our charge. Stewards are not owners; they are guardians. ( Not a guard or storekeeper but a guardian)

THE 4 PRINCIPLES OF STEWARDSHIP.
The Principle of Ownership (vss. 14-15)
The Master Owns everything.
14“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property.
Stewardship expresses our obedience regarding the administration of everything God has placed under our control
Stewardship is the commitment of one’s self and possessions to God’s service (Duet. 8:17-18)
Biblical stewardship recognizes that God owns it all
Owners have rights; stewards have responsibilities
Genesis 2:15 – “The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.”

I. EVERYONE IS CALLED TO MINISTER.
What God made me to BE determines what He intends for me to DO. I will understand the purpose for which I was created when I understand the kind of person I am.
“Your hands formed and shaped me...” ​Job 10:8a (GN)
God has been molding and shaping you for ministry since you were born. In fact, God started uniquely shaping you even before you were born!

“Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvelous ...You were there while I was being formed...You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe.”​ Psalm 139:14-16 (LB)

• I’VE BEEN CREATED FOR MINISTRY!
​“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”​​Eph. 2:10 (NIV)
• I’VE BEEN CALLED INTO MINISTRY!
​ “God, in his grace, chose me even before I was born, and called me to serve Him.” Gal. 1:15 (GN)
​“I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Eph. 4:1

Realize that whatever work you are doing, God has called you to express His life in that arena in order to have His dominion over the earth.
Abraham was a businessman and farmer, Moses was a shepherd and liberator, David was a shepherd, musician, soldier and king, Samuel was a priest, Joseph was an administrator, Joshua was a soldier, servant and also a leader. Esther was a queen and all of these were called servants of God.

• YOU HAVE BEEN GIFTED FOR MINISTRY!
“God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings.”​​ ​​​​​​​​​​1 Peter 4:10 (LB)

YOU WILL BE REWARDED FOR THE MINISTRY YOU HAVE DONE

​ “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.” ​​​​​​Col. 3:23,24 (NIV)
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PASTORS, TEACHERS, EVANGELISTS, APOSTELS AND PROPHETS?

Eph 4:11-13
11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Sundays service is a gathering of ministers: to refuel, to be equipped, for repair, for mutual encouragement.
Sunday is to celebrate God’s miracles he has done through the week.
Ministry is out in the streets, at home at work and at school.
