Recreating a Missing Detail on an Antique Mirror Frame

Описание: When I began working on this antique mirror frame, I quickly realized one of the decorative details was completely missing. There was no replacement part available, so the only option was to recreate it by hand.

In this video, I walk through the process of rebuilding that missing detail from scratch using scrap wood, then carefully blending it in so it feels cohesive with the original frame. From shaping and fitting to color matching and finishing, this restoration was all about patience, problem-solving, and respecting the character of the piece.

Projects like this remind me how grateful I am for clients who trust me with their furniture, especially when repairs require creative decisions and continued growth in this craft. Every piece teaches me something new, and I’m thankful to be learning while doing work I truly love.
