A Day Along the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad 11/8/20

Описание: Last Saturday, I went down to New Hope, PA to spend the day filming the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad's Fall Excursion and North Pole Express. The Fall Excursion took priority, as 2-8-0 40 was in charge of the train this year. For this specific weekend, GP9u 8218 was added on to help 40 deal with the leaves while pulling the train up and down the line. Meanwhile, GP30 2198 was in charge of the North Pole Express, sporting a rear-facing Leslie S3L.

I was able to film the Fall Excursion at several spots during its runs between New Hope and None-Such Farm in Buckingham. I also got a couple of shots of the North Pole Express, though admittedly not as many as I would have liked. Please enjoy!

0:28 The 9:30 train begins to depart before coming to a stop to let on a passenger who was late getting onto the platform. Once the passenger has boarded, 40 and 8218 pull the train out of the station.
3:47 GP30 2198 pulls off the passing siding and backs down onto the set for the North Pole Express after pushing it into the station.
6:07 The 9:30 Fall Excursion crosses Ferry Street as it pulls back into New Hope, now running push-pull. 40 leads the way, and 8218 is trailing.
8:43 GP30 2198 pulls the 11AM North Pole Express past Ferry Street as it departs from New Hope.
10:24 The 11:30 Fall Excursion crawls across Ferry Street as it pulls out of New Hope.
12:35 The Fall Excursion crosses Street Road in Lahaska, PA. 40 then runs around the train to be coupled onto the other end.
15:25 8218 leads the Fall Excursion as 40 shoves it past Holicong Road in Buckingham, PA. This crossing now has the worst e-bell I've ever heard.
16:35 The Fall Excursion crosses Upper Mountain Road in Buckingham, PA as it heads back east.
19:06 Reeder Road in Solebury, PA.
20:27 The 1PM North Pole Express crosses Sugan Road in New Hope.
22:30 The 1:30 Fall Excursion crawls across West Mechanic Street in New Hope. 40 was letting off a lot of steam as it passed by, so much so that it caused a short downpour which created a rainbow.
24:31 Lower Mountain Road in Solebury.
25:43 The Fall Excursion shoves across Durham Road/Pennsylania Route 413 in Buckingham.
27:22 40 pulls the Fall Excursion across Durham Road/Route 413 shortly after departing from None-Such Farm.
29:03 Aquetong Road in Solebury.
30:23 The 3PM North Pole Express pulls into the Lahaska station. 2198 then takes the passing siding to run around to the other end of the set.
33:18 A hot-air balloon descends as 2198 pulls the North Pole Express across Street Road and out of Lahaska.
35:01 The North Pole Express crosses Bridge Street/Pennsylvania Route 179 as it pulls into the station at New Hope.
