Questions and Answers from the Event:

Q: Are you able to send dynamic rates to certain partners and/or selected OTA channels only?
A: Yes, you can pick which rates have dynamic pricing applied. They are only applied to base rates since the derived rates would automatically change when the base rate changes.

Q: For the Surge pricing occupancy rates, what is the occupancy period based on, on the day or monthly?
A: When you look at the occupancy report in Preno, you can see the monthly rate, so you can calculate an average and use that when you set up your rules.

Q: Does this surge pricing flow through to Bookings.com etc or is it just on our website?
A: Depending on which rates you’ve applied it to and how you’ve set up your rates, it can flow to Booking.com as well.

Q: If we are full and get a cancellation then that is exactly when we need dynamic pricing to work.
A: If you are full, then your surge pricing would have already kicked in way before you reached your full capacity. So when a booking is cancelled, your rates should still be elevated from the previous surge pricing adjustments, and last-minute pricing would also not have kicked in since you are fully booked. This means when you get a cancellation, the rate to book should already be elevated. Hope that clarifies it.

Q: Are you able to send dynamic rates to certain partners and/or selected OTA channels only?
A: Yes, you can if you have different rates set up for the various OTAs. You can then choose which rates you want the dynamic pricing to be applied to.

Q: I’ve made a surge pricing rule for 6 rooms for the next 30 days, and Preno reported that it had made 3066 adjustments. So what constitutes an adjustment?
A: You are not able to set a date range for the surge pricing. Surge pricing is applied for the next 720 days. So when you start a surge pricing rule and then run the rule, Preno will scan the next 720 days to check which dates meet the rules you have set up and adjust this accordingly.

Q: Say we are full and get a cancellation on a particular day. If you have surge pricing and last-minute pricing, wouldn’t that meet the condition of both surge and last-minute pricing? Which one gets applied?
A: Surge pricing will not kick in when your inventory increases, so in this scenario, surge pricing does not kick in when the cancellation takes place. Last-minute pricing will kick in at midnight if the rules you have set up are met.

A: You can only view the last 30 days at the moment, but the product team is looking into expanding it and making it more flexible.
