►A. Orthopedic surgeon.
►Q. Is your patient?
►A. Yes.
►Q. Where do you practice medicine, like what office?
►A. I practice medicine out of the Fayetteville office and our Morrow, Georgia office.
►Q. Of Resurgens?
►A. Resurgens Orthopaedics.
►Q. And we're in y'all's office today?
►A. Correct.
►Q. Did you provide and are you prepared today to describe the medical treatment and surgery of?
►A. Yes.
►Q. What parts of his body did you treat?
►A. I treated his neck, his lower back, and his hand.
►Q. Is it your understanding there are other parts of body that may have been affected by this wreck but that you didn't treat?
►A. Yes.
►Q. Are you going to be addressing those, or will you just focus on the things that you provided treatment for?
►A. Just the things I provided care for.

►Q. How did get to you? How did he become your patient?
►A. He was referred to me by one of my partners.

►Q. I'd like to get into your background just a little bit before we get started on the medicine. Tell us what your specialty is, please.
►A. Orthopedic surgery with a subspecialty in spine surgery.
►Q. Are you board certified?
►A. Yes.
►Q. And in what are you board certified?
►A. Orthopedic surgery.
►Q. Where do you have hospital privileges?
►A. At Piedmont Henry, Southern Regional, Spaulding Regional, and Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
►Q. Tell us what that means, please, to have hospital privileges.
►A. It means that you're privileged and you have -- they've given you -- granted you privilege to treat patients operatively and nonoperatively at those facilities.
►Q. Basically, like you could go in that hospital and do a surgery or do whatever you needed to do? Correct.
►Q. All right. Do you have significant experience in spinal surgery?
►A. Yes.
►Q. How long have you been doing it?
►A. I've been doing spine surgery since 2004.
►Q. How many patients do you think you've had? Hundreds? Thousands? What do you think?
►A. Thousands.
►Q. Okay. Tell us where you went to college and medical school, please.
►A. I went to college at Mississippi State University. I went to medical school at Howard University. And I did my spine surgery fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University.
►Q. Where is Thomas Jefferson University?
►A. Philadelphia.
►Q. Are you a member of any medical associations?
►A. Yes.
►Q. Tell us a few of them if you will.
►A. American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, Spine Study Group, Minimally Invasive Spine Society -- that's kind of .
►Q. Do you have a military background?
►A. Yes.
►Q. Tell us about that, please.
►A. I served in the United States Navy on active duty and was stationed in multiple places --Philadelphia, San Diego, Camp Pendleton, deployed to Kuwait-Iraq and serviced in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
►Q. I'm looking here at your CV. It says orthopedic trauma surgeon. Is that what you did in Iraq?
►A. Yes.
