Władziu Valentino Liberace, who went by his last name, was an American entertainer, pianist, singer, actor, and dancer. Born in Wisconsin to parents of Polish and Italian descent, he performed for four decades in concerts, films, television, and recordings. In the 1950s, his TV show, The Liberace Show, reached over 30 million viewers. He became known as “Mr. Showmanship” for his elaborate costumes and performances that combined folk songs and Chopin.
