Road to COP17 Armenia -- Astrid Schomaker Welcomes Initiative

Описание: Astrid Schomaker, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations (UN) Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), offers her felicitations to the participants attending the launch of Road to COP17 Initiative, a year-long series of activities to boost national awareness and capacities ahead of the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) of the CBD, to take place in Yerevan in October 2026.

Ms. Schomaker congratulates and thanks the Armenian government and expresses her appreciation to the American University of Armenia (AUA) and its AUA Acopian Center for the Environment for working to launch the Road to COP17 Initiative.

The Road to COP17 initiative will include a series of workshops to inform and engage diverse stakeholders at the national level, a scientific and policy conference on the global biodiversity agenda, and e-learning modules called Biodiversity4All to engage the whole of society in key biodiversity topics.

The Road to COP17 Initiative is a joint effort of the American University of Armenia (AUA) Acopian Center for the Environment, the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia (RA), and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
