আকিকার নিয়ম ও ফজিলত:-
শিশুদের আকিকা করা মুস্তাহাব। সন্তান জন্মের পর পশু জবাই দিয়ে আল্লাহ তা'আলার শুকরিয়া আদায় করা হয়। জন্মের সপ্তম দিনে পশু জবাই করাকে মূলত আকিকা বলে। হাদিস শরিফে আকিকার প্রতি উৎসাহিত করা হয়েছে।

আল্লাহর রাসুল (সা.)-কে আকিকা সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসা করলে তিনি বলেন, ‘যে ব্যক্তি সন্তানের আকিকা করার ইচ্ছা করে, সে যেন তা পালন করে। ছেলের জন্য সমমানের দুইটি ছাগল। আর মেয়ের জন্য একটি।’ (মুসান্নাফে আবদুর রাজ্জাক, হাদিস : ৭৯৬১)

অন্য হাদিসে আছে, রাসুলুল্লাহ (সা.) বলেছেন, সন্তানের সঙ্গে আকিকার বিধান রয়েছে। তোমরা তার পক্ষ থেকে রক্ত প্রবাহিত কর (অর্থাৎ পশু যবাই কর) এবং সন্তানের শরীর থেকে কষ্টদায়ক বস্তু (চুল) দূর করে দাও। (বুখারি, হাদিস : ৫৪৭২)

আকিকা কোনদিন করা উত্তম?
সন্তান জন্মের সপ্তম দিন আকিকা করা উত্তম। এক হাদিসে সপ্তম দিনে আকিকা করার কথা বলা হয়েছে। (তিরমিজি, হাদিস: ১৫২২)

রাসুলুল্লাহ (সা.) তার দৌহিত্রদ্বয় হাসান ও হুসাইন (রা.)-এর আকিকা সপ্তম দিনে করেছেন। (সুনানে আবু দাউদ, হাদিস: ২৮৩৪)
