THIS DOCUMENTARY HAS BEEN TRANSLATED AND SUBTITLED IN ENGLISH IN LASTING MEMORY OF THE DEPARTED DAN ȘTEFĂNESCU, AIR COMMANDER ,THE PILOT AND THE MANAGER OF THR AIR ACROBAT FORMATION, NAMELY THE AEROBATIC YAKERS. FOR ALL OF THE WORLDWIDE FRIENDS!
The pilots of the best loved air acrobat team of Romania are the heroes of a documentary that was broadcast for the first time and exclusively on channel TVR 1.
The AEROBATIC YAKERS are both thorough pilots and engineers. They amaze us, at air shows, we take photos of their flight and we wonder how they manage to master the planes flying and rotating with dazzling speeds. Although their passion frequently puts their lives at risk nothing would make them give up their "play" with their planes. For the pilots of the team of Acrobatic Iakari, (known in the world as Aerobatic Yakers), flying means a way of life.
An air show represents courage and adrenaline for the spectators on the ground, but for the pilots flying the planes Yak 52, manufactured in Romania, any acrobatic move they make in the air is the outcome of intense training. In the 10 years since the founding of the team, the pilots flew in 14 countries, being the pilots with the most numerous international presences in the history of Romania's aviation. Every year, the team takes part in over 30 air shows in Europe, Middle East and China. The three pilots and their planes entirely manufactured in Romania are the best ambassadors of the Romanian aviation. Due to their complex, dynamic and thorough programme, the team was included in the Elite of the acrobatic teams in the world, and the Romanian flag is displayed at every international show where The AEROBATIC YAKERS are present.
The overloads the pilots endure for the pure pleasure of the spectators vary from 6G to -3G, when they fly as a team and between 7G and -5G when they present an individual figure, as the manoeuvres are tighter and harsher when they fly individually.
In the documentary Romania's AEROBATIC YAKERS , made by Maria Cristina Ţilică, TV producer at the Romanian Television the viewers are going to find out the story of the most appreciated acrobatic air team in Romania right from its pilots - Dan Ştefănescu (right wing of the Acrobat Iacari ( R.I.P), Ioan Postolache (head of the team Acrobat Iacari) and Dan Conderman (left wing of the Acrobat Iacari), as well as from their friends, the pilots Alexandru Șcheul from Fratauti Aerodrom , Suceava, general Cătălin Băhneanu, the commander of Flotila 86 Borcea, Gheorghe Uţă – pilot instructor, Patrick Puskeiler, pilot Red Bull - Flying Bulls and Eric Goujon, pilot Red Bull - Flying Bulls. The documentary contains imagines exclusively from the airplane cockpit, as well as spectacular videos from the wings or the nose of Iak 52 planes.
