This video is the first one of a new series, which is aimed to describe a very exciting project: a fully integrated audiophile Tube Stereo Amplifier, designed and built by me. This will have three integrated audio source modules as well: FM tuner, Bluetooth receiver, Digital to Analogue Converter.
In this first video we'll see the main highlights of the whole Tube Amplifier project, and the description of the first FM tuner's section.
I've completed the 3-gangs FM front end in fact, which is based on S042P mixer integrated circuit and on mosfet antenna preamplifier; furthermore, the LA1235 based audio demodulator is done, as well as the prescaler for the frequency counter.
I know that DAB+ digital radio is available - I've built DAB+ radio as well - but I still think the FM radio is exciting ! Furthermore, no firm date is set for the FM switchoff - at least here in Italy - so we still have time to enjoy !
