Why do people often do well inside structured recovery and re-entry programs, yet struggle once that structure is gone?
In this webinar, Recover Appalachia explores how entrepreneurial mindset training can function as a learnable, transferable skillset that supports long-term outcomes for individuals in recovery from substance use disorder and those returning from incarceration.
This session is designed for:
SUD treatment providers
Re-entry and returning citizen support professionals
Workforce and community development partners
Topics covered include:
Why structure works—and why it often fails after discharge or release
How uncertainty and ambiguity shape post-program outcomes
What “entrepreneurial mindset” actually means in recovery and re-entry contexts
How mindset training complements (not replaces) clinical and recovery services
What “reclaimed agency” looks like in practice
The session also includes a practitioner conversation with Taylor Golden, founder of Empower Treatment, reflecting on a recent pilot partnership and the impact observed among Empower’s clients.
This is not a business startup workshop or motivational talk.
It is a practice-grounded conversation focused on improving long-term recovery and re-entry outcomes.
