Only 46,000 transplants are performed each year, leaving a massive gap. Globally, millions of people are suffering from organ failure and could benefit from a transplant. The shortage is a global challenge, with long wait times and limited donor availability.

eGenesis is advancing the leading genome engineering-based approach to the development of safe, effective transplantable organs to end the global organ shortage. Its platform uniquely addresses cross-species molecular incompatibilities as well as viral risk. With demonstrated preclinical and early clinical success, eGenesis is advancing programs in kidney transplantation, acute liver failure, and heart transplantation.

By addressing the global organ donor shortage, eGenesis seeks to enable a more sustainable system of transplant and organ failure care, reducing dependence on scarce human donor organs and the associated costs of chronic dialysis.
