In the middle of acquiring a new bike I wondered, "Why ARE road bikes/TT bikes so expensive?" Are they actually pricy to manufacture, or just marked-up to a ridiculous premium and we're willing to pay the price? I review the reasons why road/TT bikes are expensive, and the costs that go into creating these high end bicycles.
