CALL TO MINISTRY
Apostle Jones had his initial conversion experience at The
Tried Stone Baptist Church in the Bronx, New York. In
1960, he was baptized in the name of The Lord Jesus Christ
and, on the same day, filled with the precious gift of the
Holy Ghost at The Greater Refuge Temple under the
guidance of Bishop R.C. Lawson. Apostle Jones began his
life of devotion to his God, to his wife, and to his church.
In 1964, under the pastoral leadership of the late Apostle
William L. Bonner, the third Presider of the Church of Our
Lord Jesus Christ, he ultimately answered the divine call to
ministry. During this life-defining moment, he received the
sacred charge: “Preach My Word, preach My Word, for I
have called and you will not do. I have charged, and you will
not go. Preach My Word.”
Answering the call of God, Apostle Jones completed his
ministerial training and served as Junior Pastor at The
Greater Refuge Temple from 1968 to 1969. He was
subsequently ordained as an Elder within the Churches of
Our Lord Jesus Christ and then sent to do his first mission
assignment in the Dominican Republic.
