FARMING RHYTHMS are played to accompany work in the field. In Guinea, West Africa, heavy farming is done by men, and since the fields are often far from the village, the workers stay out there the entire time, along with the musicians as well as women who would sometimes to accompany them to sing and dance.
Senefoli and Kassa from Guinea, and Fallahi from Egypt are examples of farming rhythms.
