This week I share my adventures with texture gels. I am using a variety of glass spheres.

And I show you how to make your own using Golden Soft Gel Gloss and add some glass microspheres from Matisse. You can use other small glass beads but be sure to use gloss medium to keep the mixture transparent.

Matisse dry mix ins-glass microspheres may be found in other countries as well.
Find some beads and mix into soft gel gloss to make your own.

The glass bead gel may be used on top of a painting without any additional paint to enhance a design and add texture, or you can add paint on top after it is dry. The gel will be white when it is wet but will dry clear.

My favorite thing to do is to put the gel through a stencil onto plastic. I am using a plastic sheet protector. I keep a piece of canvas or paper nearby to clean the stencil off and this too may be used in mixed media work.

The paints I used were Golden Hi flow quinacridone gold, yellow ochre and white. Any colors will work.

When dry you can peel the glass bead gel pieces off the plastic, paint and add to your projects.
