Exposition (for a better understanding of the scenes, the actions and emotions of the characters): All military divisions of the Grassland Tribe are in constant competition, always on the run for credits and feats of arms. Consequently, they find themselves at odds with each other regularly. Sun, the leader of the Eagle Division, faces a complex situation when he and his brother, who leads the Wolf Division, receive orders from their Lord to secretly assassinate the Tang Dynasty's emperor during peace negotiations.

She, the Tang Dynasty's princess and Sun's hidden love, takes matters into her own hands by disguising herself as a male soldier in the Wolf Division. Her actions successfully thwart the assassination attempt, but the blame is unfairly placed on the Wolf Division. Eagle Division gains favour, while she becomes a male slave under Sun's brother.

PLOT: Feeling a suspicious connection between Sun and the disguised princess and lingering grudges over the failed assassination, Sun's brother decides to bring her to the archery field for punishment.

Sun, anxious and restless after learning she is now under his brother's authority, rushes to visit her as soon as the peace negotiations conclude. Unfortunately, he cannot find her among the slaves and discovers she has been taken to the archery field for punishment.

On the field, she is tied up like a target board, awaiting a potentially deadly shot. Sun's brother, fueled by anger and hatred towards Sun, raises his arrow, preparing to release it. Just as he lets it fly, Sun arrives just in time to catch the arrow. The realization that she is on the brink of death seconds away leaves Sun angry and heartbroken.

Sun had anticipated his brother making things difficult for her but never expected that his brother would attempt to kill her. Overwhelmed by worry, Sun loses control of his anger and pushes his brother away, yelling, “Sheer, are you crazy?” Sun feels as if his heart skips a beat, and his mind threatens to explode.
