Hiya guys and welcome back to FULLWOOD'S BUCKETLIST!
In this video we will be exploring ANTARCTICA!
Yes, this video is filmed over 4 full days exploring 8 different parts of Antarctic land.
Coming up, there will be.... Whales, penguins, hiking, zodiac rides, penguin post office and icebergs.
Landing number 1: YALOUR ISLANDS - You can't beat the first few steps in a new place. Here we were greated by colonies of ADELIE PENGUINS.
Landing number 2: BOOTH ISLAND | PORT CHARCOT - Here we talk a short walk up to a Cairn which offered Stunning views across Antarcrica
Day 2 - In the morning we sailed through The Lemarie Channel which is a super stunning narrow passage way surrounded by tall cliffs reaching up into the clouds.
Landing number 3: PORT LOCKROY - This was the only place on our trip where we encountered a building. Surrounded by GENTOO PENGUINS & owned by the UK the settlement, this goes by the name of PENGUIN POST OFFICE. It also holds a museum that is restored back to it's reasearching hay day back in the 1950's.
Day 3 Landing number 4: NEKO HARBOUR - We were greeted by glass like water reflecting the beautiful ship & icebergs across it's surface. Of course there were penguin's and there was also a hike with great views. For us, the highlight was the zodiac cruise through the icey water. It was so peaceful and mesmerising.
Landing Number 5: ORNE HARBOUR - Pretty similar to Neko Bay. There was a short hike to a view point. The views offered were of penguins, dramatic mountains peaks and the open ocean.
Day 4: INTERCURRENCE ISLAND - We did not step onto land here but we did a zodiac exploration around the rugged coast line. Animals in site were penguin's, seals, blue eyed shags and spotted at the end were a pod of around 10 ORCA'S or KILLER WHALES!
Landing Number 6: PALMER POINT - The final stop was breath taking. The main 3 penguins were spotted here and the view was incredible stretching out across the Antarctic coast. You can see the cracks and crevasses in the the ice, you can see the sun shining back off the snow. The perfect place to capture our last sites of Antarctica.
This particular trip that we did was booked through "G ADVENTURES "@gadventures & the itinerary was called "ANTARCTICA CLASSIC". We sailed on The MS EXPEDITION.
