The Doctor (David Tennant), Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman), and Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) arrive in modern-day London after escaping the end of the universe. They discover that Harold Saxon, the newly elected Prime Minister, is actually the Master (John Simm), a fellow Time Lord who survived the Time War. Using his influence and charm, the Master manipulates the public and the government, placing his wife Lucy (Alexandra Moen) by his side as First Lady. He unveils his alliance with the alien Toclafane, a mysterious race preparing to descend on Earth. The Doctor realizes the Master has used the Archangel satellite network to broadcast a subtle hypnotic signal across the world, ensuring his rise to power. As Martha’s family is taken hostage by the Master, the Doctor, Martha, and Jack go on the run, desperate to find a way to stop him before the Toclafane arrive and humanity faces devastation.
