Monumental in its dimensions, richly decorated and playful in its details, the building combined the neo-Gothic style of the Victorian era with elements of Indian architecture. Above all, however, the architecture was functional, geared to the requirements of a metropolitan railway station. There are stations that are larger, but none is as busy as Victoria Terminus: three million passengers are handled here every day. This contribution to the series "Treasures of the World - Heritage of Mankind" observes a day at Victoria Terminus, a station that never sleeps.

UNESCO has been protecting the world's most valuable natural and cultural monuments as the "Heritage of Mankind" since 1972. The television series “Treasures of the World” shows these places in impressive images.
