As someone who was really into chorus before it came back into vogue over the last 3 years, I am a fan of anything that can breathe life into an effect that people have written off. Today we're looking at one such device in the form of Catalinbread's Cloak. Cloak is a shimmer reverb that really nails what shimmer needs to work. At the core of the pedal we have a really smooth and well tuned room reverb that is, alone, worth the price of admission. Building on top of that is a a harmonically rich shimmer reverb and an essential hi-cut control. The hi-cut works on the standalone room verb or with the octave up shimmer; allowing you to really push the decay, mix, and shimmer parameters further than you might otherwise without compromising your dry signal or the character of your overall mix.
