Is Consciousness Computation? (The Chinese Room Argument)

Описание: Is consciousness just a really complex type of computation? Could a machine ever truly think, reason, or be conscious? The computational theory of mind suggests that consciousness arises from computation, but one of the most famous arguments against this idea is John Searle’s Chinese Room thought experiment.

Following the very interesting discussion you guys started in the comments of the Zombie Argument Video, I thought I’d break down the computational theory of mind, and explained why Searle believed that computation alone is not sufficient for understanding or experiencing consciousness.
