Around 1.4 million people in South Yorkshire will face living under England's toughest coronavirus restrictions.
The move to Tier 3 will affect Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, coming into force on Saturday.
The new restrictions will include shutting pubs and bars which don't sell food and banning people from different households from meeting if they are not in a bubble.
