The Military Medical Community hosted four outstanding physicians at various points in their careers in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Erin Snyder, a 4th year resident at Naval Medical Center San Diego, shared tips for applying to residency, developing an interest in research, and preventing burnout. Dr. Katharine Clark, Interim Site Director at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and recent Harvard-Affiliated Emergency Medicine residency graduate, discussed applying to residency and capitalizing on learning opportunities in residency. Dr. Mike April, Program Director, San Antonio Emergency Medicine Residency, presented on the unique career Army Medicine has afforded him and the residency program he oversees. Finally, Dr. Torree McGowan, now retired from the Air Force and on the GSACEP Board of Directors, shared insights on how to fight burnout and make your career in medicine fun and fulfilling.
