The Electronic Audio Experiments Halberd V2 updates this beloved, discrete transistor-based overdrive pedal with a new pedalboard-friendly compact enclosure, a three-way voice toggle, lower current draw, and a new voltage-protection circuit, among other improvements. The most prominent of these upgrades is the voice toggle – the middle setting is “Standard,” just like the original Halberd OD, while the upper position is an aggressive, high-mid focused “Clang” voicing, and the lower position, called “Deep,” offers a grunting, almost fuzzy option with maximum low-end rumble. In this video demo we put the EAE Halberd V2 through its paces with both bass and guitar in an angular noise rock setting, then we take a deep dive into functionality, running through each voicing, along with the complete control set, to show you its full range of impressive capabilities.
