Thees videos are meant to be the start of something I haven't had the strength to do in perhaps 25 years.
After almost 40 years of inner darkness, I now want to draw the energy from it that I haven't been able to muster all these years.
Music has always been my life. Buying records, teaching myself to mix, making mixtapes, and even throwing the occasional party—that was in the late '90s and early 2000s.
Then, at some point, the darkness became so intense that I usually didn't have the energy for even the simplest things. Until now.
I don't want to anymore. I can't anymore. This is meant to be the beginning of sending my mixtapes to and for people who like and appreciate this style. My biggest influences over the last few decades have definitely been CBS/INTERGALACTIC FM with I-F and INTERGALACTIC GARY.
Anyone who's ever been in that orbit knows what I mean.
The recordings are always freestyle. Nothing is rehearsed or tested. It's simply the music and its energy.
Therefore, it's sometimes bumpy and rough, and sometimes very harmonious and profound.
Music is my life, my drug.
