Curly Cues and Swirly Doos

This is a 12" square canvas.. As I was just wanting to test out a colour combo. I had no plan..
I flooded with a base coat of Meeden Acrylic white.. and then added ribbons of Paynes Gray.. Gold and Colorshift black flash.. into which I added some Golden high flow gold..

I started swirling and shmearing the colours around.. with my pallet knife..
Really was not expecting that to be the end product..
Gave it a thought.. and poured ribbons of paint.. adding in a deep violet.. and swiped the canvas..
Was expecting some cells or something interesting..but no..

Added some Golden high flow gold .. more purple and swiped again..

I love what high flow does in a swipe..
It was better.. but plain.
So.. I started shmearing and swirling with my knife.. and really loved the effect.. Lots of curly cues and swirly doos..
The thing to take away with this video.. is to consider playing..There really is not alot at stake .. like in this one..
And I ended up with a really unique painting..and a new technique to explore on a larger canvas.. and try new colours ..

so.. let's keep playing with pigments and making beautiful things..
I love the details of this one.. Reminds me of a regal tapestry..
