📽 Mission 14 – Summer Volunteer Service | WSUCSH(Wolaita Sodo University )& READIO Ethiopia

Описание: After the Hamle 19 fire incident at Wolaita Sodo University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital (WSUCSH), many feared this year’s free summer volunteer service would be impossible. But through collaboration between WSUCSH and READIO Ethiopia, and the dedication of 15 multidisciplinary volunteers, the tradition continued—stronger than ever.

Over six days of service (plus four days of preparation), our teams:
✅ Provided free screening for communicable & non-communicable diseases
✅ Offered maternal, child, and nutrition counseling
✅ Conducted cervical cancer, ophthalmology, and hearing assessments
✅ Hosted blood donation campaigns (50 units collected in 5 days)
✅ Distributed health education brochures and provided community guidance
✅ Served 11,566 people—exceeding our original target by 115 %

Through this collaboration, the hospital minimized an estimated 1.9 million birr in costs while continuing to deliver essential health services to the community. This video captures the opening ceremony, team preparation, daily service under challenging conditions (even heavy rain), community feedback, volunteer reflections, leadership remarks, and closing celebrations.
