Описание: Rajamalay - Sandagalathenna route is an uncommon route to sripada . Infact it is the shortest route to Sripada . Also it has the lowest elevation gain. But the access route to trail head is bit difficult . You have to come all the way to Moray estate through narrow and winding uphill road. Distance  from Nallathanni ( Dalhousie ) to Moray estate is 10 km. You have to use a vehicle with high ground clearance . Trail starts 1km before famous Resting place called " Fishing Huts " . So travellers are advised to follow the name boards leeds to Fishing huts. 

Waking distance of the tail is nearly 5 km. And elevation of the trail head is 1530 m. Since Sripada summit is 2250 m , the elevation gain is just about 700 m. The path is throuh thick jungle of Sripada Wilderness . This path connects with Famous Hatton - Nallathanni route at Starting point of Mahagiridama steel Fence. 

Since this is not a common path it is not lit up at night. Also you dont find any shops or resting places . So you can only do this trail at day light

This is not an approved path .so  there are many legal barriers . So as the owner of this video i do not take any responsibility if a traveller meet with any legal issue. This video is published  purely to give information and show the beauty of Srilanka .

Though this path is unapproved one , Porters who carry goods to Temple at summit and shops at higher elevations use this path frequently . Also this path is used by law enforcement officers and monks in emergency situations. So travellers get a small window to use this path only in Sripada Season ( December to May ) . But he should abide the laws and rules by all means . Failing to do so will leed to heavy penalties or imprisonment . I have described those rules and safety measures as " Golden Tips " in this video  some of them are as follows 

1.  Stick to the designed path. Do not divert from path and enter jungle

2.  Do not use this path in off season

3. Select  a week day. Avoid weekends and public holidays 

4.  Lighting fire is strictly prohibited 

5. Consuming Alcohol or smoking is prohibited

6.  Do not travel in dark . you have to do this trail in day time only

7. Camping is not allowed 

8. Do not make noices and avoid playing musical instruments . Do not disturb wildlife 

9. Harming animals or plants is a punishable offence 

10. Collecting plants, flowers , seeds , insects etc.  is strictly prohibited

11. Consune plenty of water , fluids 

12. If there is rain leeches may invade the path . Use a leach repellent 

13. Do not litter . Leave only foot prints . Take back only sweet memories and photographs 

14. This area has a very high leopard population . Be mindful about the fact. Better to travel as a bunch of people . Also do not ever think of traveling at night. 

15. This journey is a pilgrimage . There are some rituals being done by locals throughout past 2000 years. whether you believe them or not remain calm without criticizing them

If you obey the above rules and safety tips you will be protected throughout the journey and it will help the conservation of wildlife
