This is one of my favorite places in Vietnam. Let me take you on a tour. In Saigon's district one (Main Downtown Area) there is the Nguyen Hue Walking Street. It's like a giant plaza where you can freely walk and not have to worry about getting hit by a motorbike. You can see kids playing, street performers and ummm dogs selling stuff?

Anyway, In this area, there is a very interesting building. A rugged old apartment that has been transformed into a cool little hangout spot. It’s like an apartment turned into a mall with a hipster vibe. It's a good place to hide out from the rain when it just starts pouring. Saigon's rainy season usually starts in May and ends in December. So make sure to get an umbrella.

When you enter the building there is this guy at the bottom who tries to shake you down for some cash to ride the elevator. 3000 dong or about 15 cents Canadian. Since I need the exercise to prepare myself for all the things I'm going to eat. I just take the stairs.

Each floor is filled with many interesting businesses. Boutique shops, a hookah lounge, hip restaurants, coffee shops and a sexy sleepwear store. Don't forget, Buy 3 get one free. The hallways and staircase look a little rough but inside the shops, everything is nicely renovated and decorated. Up top, there is a nice view of district 1.

The Maker Is one of my favorite places to eat in Saigon. It's a great little western-style restaurant. There is an outdoor patio with a great view of the city. They serve food like steak, burgers and macaroni. They also have wine.

Believe it or not, Black Lives Matter even made it all the way to Vietnam. It was spray-painted on top of the elevator.
