After a day in the Capital city of Nouakchott, our Mauritania expedition began. We spent almost a week off roading through the desert, camping beneath sand dunes and discovering ancient cities, engulfed by the Sahara. In part 1 of our expedition we drive to the unbelievably massive dunes of Azoueiga, before finding shelter in the Terjit Oasis, and then continuing on to Chinguetti, the countries most significant religious city, and here’s how it went…
