Metal Knight Gameplay | Abandonware RTS

Описание: An old abandonware RTS I found in my closet the other week. The official title for North America is 'Metal Knight: Mission - Terminate Resistance". No gameplay footage exists on YouTube so I figured for preservation purposes I'd throw up this (poorly) played video.

Getting this game to run on modern hardware is not trivial. The Installshield installer packaged with the game is a 16-bit program, which is not executable on modern windows OS's. I had to install the game on Windows XP and copy the game files to a USB to get the game files. Then to get the game to work I had to work around DirectDraw issues. This game was programmed for DirectX 5.0 and DirectDraw, which has been deprecated since Windows Vista. Playing this game again brought back some major nostalgia from my childhood. Even as an adult this game is incredibly difficult due to the lack of money. The only way to earn money in this game is to capture settlements. Holding those settlements against wave after wave of enemies is nearly impossible. No keyboard shortcuts either - everything is controlled through the mouse.
