Описание: In this video, we explain the difference between Alimony and Maintenance under Indian law. Many people often get confused between these two terms, but they have different meanings and applications.

Alimony is a one-time lump sum amount, usually paid at the time of divorce, to help the spouse financially after separation.

Maintenance is a periodic (monthly or regular) payment given to support the spouse and/or children, even during the marriage or after divorce.

We also discuss how the amount of alimony or maintenance is fixed by the court. Factors such as:
