During my recent trip to Madinah Munawwarah, I had the opportunity to visit Masjid-e-Quba, the first mosque built in the history of Islam. Right in front of this sacred mosque, my friend Zubair Riaz shared with me the beautiful and inspiring history of Masjid Quba — something every Muslim should know and reflect upon.
Masjid Quba holds a special place in Islamic tradition as it was established by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ upon his arrival in Madinah. The reward for praying two rakats in this mosque is said to be equal to performing an Umrah. In this video, we revisit those early moments in Islamic history, walking through the legacy of the Prophet ﷺ and the spiritual importance of this masjid.
