I’m taking a slight pause on Halloween 🎃 books 📖 today to bring you something that still kind of keeps with the theme, but can be read at any time of year! I especially think this book is fun to read at night before bed, inside of a fort or a tent, or on a rainy/gloomy day! "The Human Body" by Carron Brown & Rachael Saunders is a shine-a-light 💡 book that not only teaches children about human anatomy 🫀and physiology🦵🏼, but does it in a way that is super fun! Each page has a picture where you can either shine a flashlight 🔦 behind it or hold the page up to a light source to reveal a picture of something that is inside the body. This is such a cool series of books. Although the suggested reading age is 4 to 8, my two-year-old really loves this book as well! 🤩 I thought that this would be a great book to pull out for this month since one of the pages talks about the skeletal structure. Your kids may be seeing a lot of skeletons 💀 out right now because of Halloween and wondering what they are. 🤔This is the perfect way to show them! And it may also be a great way to address any fears 😱 around skeletons and skulls too!

This video features Mama reading the book in person so that kids can get the added value of seeing a human mouth form the words along with showing how to do a few common signs. Reading in this way is the best for babies and toddlers as they need to see a human mouth saying the words rather than just hearing the story on its own.
